Waasailing the Apple Trees

  • Old Frog Pond Farm 38 Eldridge Road Harvard, MA USA (map)

Lynn HOrsky, poet, reading her poem at a wassailing in 2016

Join friends of the farm to wassail the Apple trees this coming Sunday afternoon. Wassailing is an old English tradition when farmers gather with family and friends and visit their orchards. They hang bits of bread dipped in cider on the branches for the robins, the good spirits who protect the trees, and pour libations on the roots.

We’ll stomp our feet, drink cider, and listen to poems written for this year’s wassailing.
