Qigong and Tai Chi are meditative mind-body practices that use slow graceful movements and conscious breathing techniques to promote relaxation, reduce stress, improve circulation and enhance overall health and well-being. These easy to learn practices can be adapted for sitting, standing, walking and lying down. Through Qigong and Tai Chi practice we strengthen our interconnectedness with nature and the energy within and around us. During these classes we will explore a variety of techniques to harmonize heart, mind and body, and to clear, reinvigorate, and balance our Qi channels (meridians). Join us at the farm and learn about the “three treasures” of Qigong, Tai Chi Easy (5 movements), and other healing energy practices that you can take home and integrate into your everyday life.
No experience or special equipment needed, loose comfortable clothes and flat shoes recommended. We will be practicing outdoors, weather permitting (or using indoor studio space in case of rain).
The instructor is Aisling O’Shea, a certified Integral Qigong Teacher and Tai Chi EasyTM Practice Leader. Her goal is to help others develop a practice that promotes relaxation, improves energy and strengthens the mind and body’s capacity for stress management and self-healing. Aisling has been practicing various forms of Tai Chi and Qigong for more than twenty years and teaching for seven. Connecting with nature is an important aspect of these ancient Chinese healthcare practices. Nature and healing are at the core of Aisling’s environmental work also where she focuses on restoration and preservation of healthy, self-sustaining aquatic ecosystems.
