Wuji Tai Chi is a long-hidden form brought to the US by John P. Milton in 2010. John was an invited honored guest of the Taoist masters at the Wudang Monastery in China to learn the form. The form focuses on gathering and storing chi (life force/energy) internally for health and longevity. Unlike other forms of Tai Chi, one can learn the basic movements relatively quickly. It is a 5-minute set of movements that, once memorized, are repeated 4 times, creating a 20 minute exercise.
Building upon introductory material, Pat starts introducing traditional Chinese medicine concepts for moving energy through the various meridians in the body that connect the major organs. Learning to move the energy through the body while performing the Wuji Tai Chi form is the key to the health benefits brought by energizing your physical and energy centers. The form is very relaxing, easily incorporated into your daily practice and is considered an effective moving meditation. Doing the form regularly with a group of practitioners adds a deeper dimension to the practice.
For over 25 years, Pat has been studying nature-based practices for mental, physical and spiritual health under the tutelage of John P. Milton. After many years of training and practice, Pat has been encouraged by John to teach Tai Chi and other related energy and nature-based practices. On his 60th birthday Pat made a vow to do Tai Chi every day for the rest of his life with the goal of dying healthy! It is working well so far, and he wants to bring these gifts to his friends and neighbors.
